About the Pacific Singlehanded Sailing Association
The Pacific Singlehanded Sailing Association sponsors a winter series of overnight races and a summer series of day races. In even numbered years, the club runs the Guadalupe Island race, which is often used as a qualifier for the singlehanded Transpac. PSSA runs both a singlehanded and a doublehanded division, and generally observes the racing rules that govern any yacht racing with one important exception--PSSA allows the use of autopilots.
PSSA meetings are held at 8:00 P.M. on the second Monday of each month, generally feature an outside speaker and are open to the potential members at no charge. These meetings are held at the Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club.
