J 105 Fleet Races are in Red
January 3 (Sat.) Malibu & Return The Malibu & Return race is the first event of Del Rey Yacht Club's Berger Series. Twelve Bar Blues is the PHRF A 1999 champion. January 31 (Sat.) PSSA Ship Rock This is the first race of the PSSA Dan Byrne Series. It is a doublehanded race on a course from Marina del Rey around Ship Rock (Two Harbors, Catalina) and back to the Marina February 21-22 (Sat./Sun.) J105 Midwinters This is the first of the class races and it will be sailed in Dana Point. The class permits two discards but certain regattas cannot be discarded. This is one of those regattas.
March 6 (Sat.) Topanga & Return This is the second in a series of five Berger Series races.
March 19-21 (Fri./Sun.) J 105 NOOD Regatta This is the second regatta of the J 105 Series. It is sailed in San Diego.
April 17-18 (Sat./Sun.) J 105 Ahmanson Regatta This is the third race of the J 105 series. It is sailed in Newport Beach.
April 21 (Wed.) Sunset Series begins This is the California Yacht Club's Wednesday evening summer series, sailed in Marina del Rey. Twelve Bar Blues will sail on those most Wednesdays, unless it is away for a regatta. Please note: the boat will be in San Diego at the beginning of the Sunset Series and will begin the Sunset season on May 5th.
April 23 (Fri.) Newport-Ensenada This is the largest yacht race held on the west coast. Five to six hundred boats are typically entered. Twelve Bar Blues will need to be in San Diego for subsequent races, so the Ensenada race is a convenient feeder.
